The Global Aquaculture Alliance on June 15 announced the release of Issue 3.0 of its Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) Feed Mill Standard. This widely adopted standard has been strengthened to reflect the growing reliance of aquaculture on responsibly produced feed. Latest BAP Feed Mill Standards Address Responsible Soy

The latest issue of the Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) feed mill standards, published on May 24, include a responsible soy provision addressing the sourcing of responsibly produced soymeal and soy-derived ingredients. The revisions reads: “Feed mills shall adopt preferential sourcing of responsibly produced soymeal and soy-derived ingredients such that a minimum of 50% (calculation based on mass balance) are derived from certified sources by June 2022. iBAP Welcomes First Greek Facility

BMR Seafood Group Sets Sights On Four-Star BAP

BMR Seafood Group has applied its brand new feed mill for Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification. If the feed mill attains BAP certification, BMR Seafood would be eligible to offer four-star BAP shrimp, meaning that the company’s processing plant, farm, hatchery and feed mill are all BAP certified, the program’s highest designation. Feed Mill Is First In Indonesia To Earn BAP Certification

Shrimp and finfish companies sourcing from Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP)-certified hatcheries, farms and processing plants can now source feed from the PT Centralpertiwi Bahari (CP Prima) feed mill in Indonesia and be capable of offering four-star BAP product. The feed mill, owned by PT Central Proteinaprima (CP Prima) and located in Lampung province, recently attained BAP certification.
