BAP Launches Producer ‘Splash Pages’ on Website

BAP recently launched “splash pages” on the producer page of the BAP website as an added benefit to certified producers. These are drop-down tabs that provide additional information about producers by clicking on the facility name. These tabs provide a place for producers to list information such as marketing and sales contacts and a link to their downloadable BAP certificate. First Facilities Certified to BAP Chain of Custody Standard

Three U.S.-based seafood production facilities have become the first to be certified to the new Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard. East Coast Seafood has successfully certified three of its facilities — Seatrade in New Bedford and Lakeville, Mass., as well as Maine Fair Trade in Prospect Harbor, Maine. BAP Beta Tests Blockchain Traceability App

The Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) program is currently beta testing a blockchain traceability application that will be made available to BAP-certified facilities. Members of the BAP information technology team recently visited Kauai Shrimp’s processing plant and farm in Hawaii which are currently in the iBAP improver program.
