BAP Workshop on Antibiotic Control, Residue Testing a Success

Around 65 quality control managers and technicians representing the majority of India’s leading processors and exporters turned out for a one-day Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP)-organized workshop on antibiotic control and residue testing. Held at The Gateway Hotel in Vijayawada on July 28, the workshop was held to support BAP-certified processing plants with antibiotic control and residue testing, of which there’s heightened awareness of in the European Union. SONGA Sets Out To Achieve Four-Star BAP Certification

Sociedad Nacional de Galapagos (SONGA), one of Ecuador’s largest and most important shrimp exporters, is en route to achieve four-star Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification. The initial phase of SONGA’s BAP certification includes a total of five facilities located in Guayaquil. SONGA’s state-of-the-art processing facility, two farms (Lebama Farm, and Naturisa S.A. Farm) and two hatcheries (Criesbio Hatchery and Larviquest Hatchery) are listed in iBAP. First Mexican Shrimp Supplier To Offer Four-Star BAP Shrimp

Nine Thai Shrimp Farms Latest To Enroll In iBAP

Beaver Street Fisheries, a leading U.S. seafood importer, and Marine Gold Products Ltd. of Thailand, a leading shrimp processor, have sponsored nine shrimp farms in southern Thailand’s Surat Thani province that are the latest aquaculture facilities to enroll in the Best Aquaculture Practices’ (BAP) iBAP program. Good Luck Products Co. Ltd. is the latest group to land four-star Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) status for shrimp, with the BAP certification of its feed mill in Thailand. Located in Samut Sakhon province, S. Pat & Peach Feedmill Co. Ltd. just attained BAP certification, a little more than a month after Good Luck’s Somrak shrimp hatchery attained BAP certification.
