Congratulations to India’s Star Agro Marine Exports Pvt. Ltd., the latest company to earn four-star Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) status. Four-star BAP status denotes that a product originates from BAP-certified processing plant, farm, hatchery and feed mill. It’s the highest designation in the BAP third-party certification program. Star Agro earned four-star BAP status upon confirmation that it sources feed from Avanti Feeds Limited, which recently earned BAP re-certification. Good Luck Products Co. Ltd. is the latest company to earn three-star Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) status, with the BAP certification of its Somrak shrimp hatchery in Thailand. Three-star BAP status denotes that a product originates from BAP-certified processing plant, farm and hatchery or feed mill. Also BAP certified are Good Luck’s processing plant and three sets of IOM (integrated operating module) shrimp farms, consisting of 19 farms, all in Thailand. Omarsa Is First Ecuadorian Company To Offer Four-Star BAP Shrimp

Omarsa S.A. is the first Ecuadorian shrimp supplier to receive the highest achievement in the Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) third-party certification program by earning the four-star BAP status. It’s also Latin America’s second company qualified to offer four-star BAP shrimp. Four-star BAP product originates from a BAP-certified processing plant, farm, hatchery and feed mill. Europe’s First BAP-Certified Shrimp Processing Plant

The United Kingdom-based company’s Sefton Meadow Seafoods facility is Europe’s first shrimp processing plant to earn Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification, the Global Aquaculture Alliance announced at Seafood Expo North America in early March. First Latin American Company To Offer Four-Star BAP Tilapia

Paraiso Springs Aquaculture Guatemala is Latin America’s first company qualified to offer four-star Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) tilapia, the Global Aquaculture Alliance announced in early March. The company became eligible to offer four-star BAP tilapia with the BAP certification of its hatchery. Colombia Embraces BAP Program Through MoU With GAA

The Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Federación Colombiana De Acuicultores (FEDEACUA) to ensure that Colombian farmers, processors, hatchery operators and feed manufacturers are able to access the Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) third-party certification program to comply with local and international market requirements. FEDEACUA committed to provide the support and funding necessary for farms, processing plants, hatcheries and feed mills to apply for BAP certification.
